I would like to thank all of you who prayed for my husband and my family. There is no greater gift to receive than prayers. The way, in which we all come together and humble ourselves, asking our Almighty God to have mercy on us and answer our request of help. The power of your prayers was so beautifully notice not only when my husband started to feel better but how God provided me and my family with a strength to handle our cross in a peaceful way, trusting more than ever on our Lord's will. Your prayers gave our marriage and family more strengthen and love in our faith. May our Lord Jesus Christ reward all of you abundantly all the days of your life. You are always in my heart. THANK YOU! In Art we will continue drawing STILL LIFE. In Spanish we will keep practicing the verb TIENE(He or she has)

The art of illusion. Still Life.
Saturday, March 29, 2008, 11:19 PM
Still lifes are paintings of objects that can't move, such as flowers, fruits,a vase, a cup, or whatever catches the eye of the artist. Until the late 19th century, the goal of most still lifes was to look as realistic as possible. The artists became so good at it, they could create anything from grapes which look good enough to eat, to jugs and bowls which seem to jut right out of the painting. The next couple of weeks the students will appreciate some still life paintings of the 19th century and learn how to do a still life drawing by understanding better on how light works and how objects relate to each other within a composition and color scheme. Art could be a lot of work, but at the end it could be your biggest masterpiece.

Holy Week in Spanish = Semana Santa
Tuesday, March 18, 2008, 07:00 AM
I know that I should be writting about the lessons for this week in Spanish and Art, but when it comes to Holy Week my thoughts are all the time poundering and meditating about what our Lord Jesus Christ went through this week 2008 years ago. When I was young (in Puerto Rico) the entire Holy Week was a time of silence. No music. No toys just silence. The silence was a way of penitence, but also a time to learn more about our Lords Passion and Death on the Cross. I also remember that the Churches (in Puerto Rico) will do the Stations of the Cross (Via Crucis in Spanish)during the entire Holy Week as a Procession by carring a big cross and a float of our Sorroful Mother Mary (Madre Dolorosa); around the block where the Church is located. It was an amazing to see how many people will join in the Stations of the Cross as it went by. I have so many beatiful memories of Holy Week in Puerto Rico that I wish I had pictures of it, instead I have pictures of Holy Week in Seville and Malaga, in Spain. Since I was born I have travel to Spain and have learn so much of my Catholic faith there and just to let you know Puerto Rico's Spanish, food, culture and religion is mostly from Spain. With this pictures it will be easy for you to understand my beautiful memories of Holy Week. O Jesus with all my heart I unite myself to Thee. Have a Blessed Holy Week.
